We've moved! 09/28/2008

Well, like all good bloggers, we have decided to move to a new neighborhood.  It was fun while it lasted Weebly.

We hope you will visit often to keep in touch.  You can find us at http://www.theblackhamspot.blogspot.com/.  Visit often as Heather is a great blogger.  And who knows... maybe I will someday get into the action!

More Pictures... 08/24/2008

So apparently we like to kiss...even after being married for over a month :)  Here are a few pictures we have back, though we are still patiently waiting for the rest of them.  (Who are we kidding?  I was patient for about two weeks, but my patience is waning)  Life is great.  We are busily working and trying to put our house together when we're not working.  We went to our new ward for the second time today, and it is nice but different.  I think we feel a little lost without a calling or two.  And we're still working on focusing despite the crying/playing babies around us.  They sure are more fun to watch than a bunch of single adults.  Anyway, life is still great.  Sam promises to post pictures of Alaska sometime soon.

I can't believe it.  One week from now Heather and I will have been married for a month!  Time has been flying by so fast that we haven't even had a chance to update our site or post to our blog.  I was reminded this week by one of our employees that a post doesn't have to be paragraphs long, so I think I will get caught up the same way I would eat an elephant... one bite at a time.

So for starters, let me say, being married is the best.  Why didn't anyone try to convince me otherwise?  (Ok, all of you know I am kidding.)  Hindsight truly is 20/20.  And Heather is the best!

To those who were able to visit with us over the last few weeks, thank you so much for spending time with us.  We enjoyed seeing old friends and spending time with family.  The greatest joys truly are the relationships we build.

For those who have been begging me (hounding me actually) to post some pictures, I am happy to oblige!

Enjoy!

Yeah.  Being married is pretty much awesome.

Once upon a time in the sweltering desert of Arizona lived a nice, young school teacher - that would be me.  I was going about my business when a friend introduced me to Sam.  After much coercion, some of his college friends and their buddies in the accounting world convinced him to move from California to the lovely, cactus-infested land of Arizona.  One of those friends thought my roommates and I should invite him to a little birthday party and get to know him, since he was new in town.  After meeting him, I was so impressed that I didn't hesitate long in trying to set him up with one of my close friends.  She is quite a catch, and I was sure things would work out nicely for them.  Well, I'm sure they had a great time, but while I was busy with other uh...interests...I noticed that Sam was spending a lot of time at my apartment.  For awhile I was sure he had a little crush on my roommate.

After quite some time"hanging out", we had developed quite a friendship, and I realized that perhaps my feelings ran deeper than just friendship.  Oops!  I still wasn't sure how this love triangle I had made up would work out.  I couldn't imagine not seeing Sam everyday.  And then to my surprise, one late, rather awkward night, Sam asked me out on a date.  He would say it was the worst date he has ever been on, and while I agree that it was strained, I've had many that were worse.  Luckily we went out a second time, and it didn't take long before we were "going out", "dating", a bona fide "item".  We have spent almost everyday together since then, and that has been many days ago.

Sam and I  have had a great time getting to know each other over the past few years.  We have dated three years, much to the chagrin of our family and friends, and we are excited to be moving on with our lives together.  While it has taken us time to come to the decision to marry, I am thankful for the time that we've had together and for the relationship that we have developed.  Sam is my best friend, and I am looking forward to spending eternity with him!

We decided to set up this site right after we became engaged.  Admittedly Sam has done most, if not all, of the work here.  We think it will be a fun way for us to tell our friends our story.
